4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers. We work with third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Site and processing donations, including payment processors and email service providers. These vendors are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and to maintain its confidentiality.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Project Mexico, our donors, or the public.

With Your Consent. We may share your information in other circumstances with your explicit consent.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to enhance your browsing experience and collect usage data. We use the following types of cookies:

Essential Cookies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be disabled. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as submitting a donation form.

Analytics Cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting information anonymously. We use this data to improve our content and user experience.

Third-Party Cookies may be set by external services we use, such as embedded social media content or analytics platforms. These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties.

You may control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Site. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored.

6. Third-Party Payment Processing

Donations made through the Site are processed by a third-party payment processor. When you make a donation, you will be providing your payment information directly to that processor, subject to their privacy policy and terms of service. Project Mexico does not receive or store your full credit card number or financial account details.

We encourage you to review the privacy policy of our payment processor before completing a transaction.

7. Email Communications

If you sign up for our newsletter or email updates, we will send you information about our ministry, programs, and fundraising initiatives. Each email communication we send will include an unsubscribe link. You may opt out of email communications at any time by clicking that link or by contacting us at info@ProjectMexico.org.

Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still contact you with transactional messages related to your donations, such as receipts and gift acknowledgments.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Donation records are retained in accordance with applicable tax and nonprofit reporting requirements. If you would like us to delete your personal information, please contact us at info@ProjectMexico.org and we will accommodate your request to the extent permitted by law.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our Site uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for data transmitted through donation forms and contact submissions.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The children in our care at Project Mexico and St Innocent Orphanage are not users of this Site, and we do not publish identifying information about individual children in our programs without appropriate authorization.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through this Site, please contact us immediately at info@ProjectMexico.org and we will take prompt steps to remove that information from our records.

11. California Privacy Rights

As a California-incorporated nonprofit, we recognize the rights afforded to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). California residents have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell

  • Delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions

  • Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information)

  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@ProjectMexico.org. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days as required by law. We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

12. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites including social media platforms, partner organizations, and payment processors. This Privacy Policy applies only to ProjectMexico.org. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or Site functionality. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Site following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

14. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the handling of your personal information, please contact us:

Project Mexico
Email: info@ProjectMexico.org
Website: ProjectMexico.org

We will respond to all privacy-related inquiries within a reasonable timeframe.

Important note: As with the Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy should be reviewed by a licensed California attorney before publication — particularly given the CCPA/CPRA provisions, the cross-border nature of operations in Mexico, and the sensitivity of the population served. A legal review will ensure full compliance with current California and federal requirements for nonprofit charitable organizations.
